HEROES Act: The HEROES Act that recently passed the House had some great provisions to provide much needed support to immigrant families and essential workers. But it also failed to address the scale of the crisis in many ways. We know who is bearing the brunt of this crisis - low-income people, black and brown people, and generally those least able to weather the storm. We will continue to push for #CancelRent, health care for all, and regular cash payments to all families. NV Energy Greenwashing: After years of opposing rooftop solar, NV Energy has been approved to build the massively destructive Gemini Solar Project which will aid them in following through on their Customer Price Stability Tariff program; a handout to corporations to keep them from leaving NV Energy. So, we are scraping the desert rather than building rooftop solar, it translates to corporate handouts, and it is masked in sustainability. Primary Election: Nevada's June 9th Primary Election will be happening primarily through mail in ballots that should be arriving this week.
