Great Basin Native Voice

The Southern Nevada Water Authority has attempted for 30 years to drain the groundwater from eastern Nevada to feed the growth of Las Vegas. But the Great Basin Water Protectors have fought back.

Led by Native Americans, the group has protested the proposed building of a 300-mile water pipeline from Great Basin National Park to Lake Mead.

In October 2018, indigenous activists across the American Southwest gathered for a Sacred Run in Nevada. In this film, viewers can join the run and hear from those whose connection to Mother Earth runs deepest talk about their precious water. They ask all who listen to stand up to this threat and take action.
