2026 ELECTION

We envision a government that works for us, not corporations and wealthy donors. In the past years proposals that would have delivered material benefits for all Nevadans like rent stability or free school lunches have been killed or vetoed. That’s why Nevadans need elected leaders that will co-govern with our community. There is a lot at risk this election but also an opportunity to deliver wins for working class Nevadans. We can protect all Nevadans from greedy utility rate hikes and  strengthen tenant protections by holding landlords accountable. It’s not about an individual candidate or political party, it’s about taking a stand for the issues that affect everyone in our communities. This change starts at the grassroots level with turning out to vote for local candidates who will champion our community and can have a more direct impact in our lives.

Our resilience is our strength. Together we can build a Nevada and an economy that works for all of us regardless of the size of your bank account, the color of your skin, or the country you were born in. This election, let’s put our people’s power into action and vote for a better Nevada.

Check out our general voter guide!

This voter guide was created to help Nevadans understand how the elected offices on the 2026 ballot have an impact on your life, based on the issues you care about, and to point you in the right direction of who to make demands to for the public goods our communities need.

We need people to show up who want Nevada to be a place where multiracial working-class families have stability and access to opportunity. The forces who want to deport all immigrants; incarcerate communities of color; attack people who need access to abortion healthcare; and allow corporations to exploit us and price gouge the essentials we need to live; should not be the only voices who are heard in our democracy!

Because politics touches everything in our lives – from street lamps to jobs, health, and opportunity – most voter guides only provide broad descriptions that make it hard to understand why we should care about voting for all of it. This guide provides a breakdown of the various offices up for election, including their responsibilities and the impact they have on specific community issues, as well as links to examples of how their decisions have affected us in the past.

Same-day registration allows a voter to register for the first time or update their existing registration on the same day they vote in person. However, if you choose to register to vote same-day, you must bring with you a valid Nevada driver’s license or identification card.

The right to vote is automatically returned to formerly incarcerated individuals upon release. Probation and parole status does not have an impact on your ability to vote, as long as you are no longer incarcerated, and meet the general eligibility requirements, you have the right to vote.

An otherwise eligible voter who is 17 years old can pre-register to vote, if they will be 18 by Election Day.  A person who has pre-registered to vote is automatically deemed registered to vote on their 18th birthday.

When you change any of your information at the DMV, your voter registration is updated automatically.

Nevada tribes are authorized to submit a request for a polling place, a ballot drop box, or both within the boundaries of their reservation or colony for the day of a primary election or general election.
